A Family Friendly Encounter
When you visit the farm, you will get two hours to experience horse-back riding from beginning to end!
We begin with grooming the horses by combing and brushing. This gives the riders and the horses the opportunity to get acquainted. You will learn about the tack and what each piece of equipment is used for.
"Tack" is the equipment and accessories that are used during riding. "Tacking" is the act of putting this equipment on the horse. Riders will witness the tacking process.
Once the horses are tacked up, the riding will begin! Riders will be taught the proper way to mount, dismount, and ride and will be led around the riding pasture.
When the riding is done, riders will have the chance to feed treats to the horses as a thank you for their time!
Donation-Based Operation
FHG does not charge for appointments. The care of the horses and the upkeep of their environment is funded through donations from people just like you!
